Program provides special payment conditions for tax and non-tax debtsOn 11/4/2024, the São Paulo City Hall launched the Incentive Installment Payment Program (“PPI/SP”) by means of Law 18.095/2024, regulated by Decree 63.341/2024, for the settlement of municipal debts of individuals and companies, whose triggering events occurred up to 31/12/2023.The purpose of the PPI/SP is to allow taxpayers to settle tax and non-tax debts, whether or not they are registered as active debt, with special payment conditions, such as reduced fines, interest on arrears and legal charges.Please note: the deadline for joining will be Friday 28/6/2024. The application must be made on the website of the São Paulo City Hall Finance Department, using a Web Password or Digital Certificate.The program enables a reduction of up to 95% in the amount of interest on late payments, fines and legal fees and varies according to the nature of the debt and the number of installments.
In order to join the PPI 2024, the taxpayer must formally withdraw from discussions of the debts included in the installment plan in lawsuits and administrative proceedings.Debts related to Simples Nacional, traffic fines, debts related to violations of environmental legislation, or that are included in previous transactions and PPIs, which have not yet been broken, are excluded.The lawyers of the Araújo e Policastro tax team are available to provide further guidance and clarify any doubts taxpayers may have about joining the PPI/SP.
